Embrace The Debunkers
Our Shifting Reality By CJ Arabia
February 2026
A friend of mine recently said, “I hate debunkers.”
Really?
I was shocked. When did “Debunker” become a bad word?
Debunkers are people who use science and facts to point out when an opinion, idea or concept is false or untrue, and I’m sure prominent figures like J. Alan Hynek and Jacques Vallee would both agree that truth, facts, science and education are vitally important to the UFO topic. We use science to figure out the size and speed of objects reported in our skies. We use science to analyze soil samples and take radiation readings.
If it weren’t for the vast amounts of scientific evidence gathered, the UFO topic would be fodder for Comic-Con attendees, not Congressional hearings. So why would people in the UFO community have any issues with debunkers? We all want the truth, right?
Let’s take a look at a couple of hot topics that might not be so hot if people bothered to google them or watch a debunking video on YouTube.
Buckle up, I'm going to make you smarter right now!
The Dendera “Light Bulb”
A lot of people see this relief on the walls of the temple in Dendera (upper Egypt), and they’ve been told by Ancient Aliens that it’s some kind of ancient light bulb. You saw it on TV, so it must be true, right? What is this claim based on? This claim is based on the fact that someone looked at this relief (without reading the hieroglyphs on the wall around the relief that clearly explain exactly what’s going on in the image) and decided that since it looks like a lightbulb, it must be a light bulb.
Using this logic we can say that this is a potato. It looks like a potato so it must be a potato. If you bite into it, you’ll find that it’s an adorable bar of soap that you can buy on Etsy. If we are going to use this kind of Dendra light logic, that if something looks like something that is what it must be, then we’d all be eating adorably crafted bars of soap.
You have to read the Etsy listing to know it’s not a potato, it's a bar of soap, and you’d have to read the hieroglyphs on the wall to know that you are looking at an artistic depiction of the Egyptian creation myth, not the depiction of some kind of ancient ridiculously oversized lightbulb.
Please do NOT take my word for it. Please watch the entire video on the Miniminuteman YouTube channel discussing in-depth and at length about this amazing temple and the writings and reliefs on the walls.
Sumerian “Handbags”
Many people would like you to believe that nobody knows what these little Assyrian demigods are holding in their hands, but Assyriologists who are actually educated and study the topic are not confused in the least. They are carrying something called a “dalu” or dalum, which means “bucket,” like the kind you use to draw water.
But again, please don’t take my word for it. Please enjoy this information packed episode of World of Antiquity where you will learn more than most of your friends and become a local expert on the subject of Sumerian "Handbags."
Do not be afraid of the truth my friends. The truth will set you free! Don't be afraid of debunkers either, they do a lot of research and share information, sighting sources and saving you valuable time that you might waste doing your own research.
There is nothing wrong with falling for a conspiracy or bullshit theory you see on TV, the Internet or read in a book. We’re human, I’ve pondered these “handbags” and “light bulbs” myself. That's when I logged into YouTube and decided to watch some of my favorite archeologists and researchers explain it to me in plain English and BAM! Mysteries solved.
It's important to note that not all researchers are created equal. I do my own research and make sure that the people I'm learning from are actually qualified to speak on the topic and doing scientific research, not just sharing disinformation, opinions and fabrications as truth. Find out how your debunker got educated on that topic. Did they study it in college? Did they read a book? Are they qualified to speak on the topic? They should be sighting sources and sharing links as to where they got the information they are sharing in the video description. If not, beware!
Embrace the debunkers my friends. Not only can they be very entertaining, they can also save you a lot of time.
