About MUFON’s Experiencer Resource Team

As I mentioned in my last few articles, I am a member of MUFON’s Experiencer Resource Team and I thought it would be a good idea to do a deep dive into MUFON’s ERT and tell you what we’re all about.
To start, MUFON’s Experiencer Resource Team or ERT is a group of MUFON Field Investigators with special training in compassion and helping people who have had contact or perceived contact with non-human intelligence.
If you go to the MUFON homepage you’ll see two big red buttons at the top of the website where you can report a UFO, abduction or contact with an entity. If you report contact you will be directed to MUFON’s Experiencer Questionnaire and a series of about 30 questions to help our team get a better idea of what you are experiencing. You can also go directly to MUFON’s ERT landing page HERE to see all of our ERT members and make your report of contact or a sighting. When you fill out a questionnaire a member of our ERT will reach out to you using the contact information you provide in the report.
As you can imagine we get a wide variety of reports. Some are more believable than others, but we aren’t here to judge. The ERT is just here to help. We are not an investigative body. We are not here to determine if what you report is true or not, that’s regular MUFON’s job. I guess you can think of MUFON ERT members like the social workers of ET contact community, we are here to help.
Some people just want to talk, they want their statement taken and their report to be in the written record, but other people are looking for help integrating their experiences into their regular lives. Some people would like to join a support group or speak to a psychologist. Others would like to speak to someone qualified in regression so they can recover memories from periods of missing or lost time. MUFON’s ERT has a list of vetted professionals who can help you with all of that and more. Some people just want help with the stress and trauma that can sometimes be associated with contact or perceived contact. Sometimes family members and friends are unable to help experiencers or even be supportive of this kind of experience. Stories of contact are often met with judgment and questions like “What the heck have you been drinking?” We are not here to judge you. We are here to help you.
It’s true that most of the ERT reports come from the United States but MUFON’s ERT gets reports from all over the world. We’ve helped people in Mexico, India, Brazil, Jordan, Spain, China, Ukraine, France, Australia, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Italy, United Kingdom, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Syria, Norway, Malaysia, Iran, Canada and many other countries and in many languages.
Some cool back story on MUFON’s Experiencer Resource team… The ERT was formed in 2011 when MUFON’s Chief Executive Officer asked Kathleen Marden - the niece of Betty and Barney Hill , to form a team that could help respond to people who were having concerns or questions about contact with non-human entities or intelligence. Kathleen and a man named Craig Lang (deceased) curated and formed a team of individuals that could respond effectively to these reports.
Our current ERT Director is a wonderful man named George “Doc” Medich. In fact, Doc will be a Featured Guest Speaker during the upcoming 2025 MUFON Symposium! Doc has been on the ERT since 2014 when he was recruited by Kathleen Marden herself. Doc is a former Yankee’s pitcher, a retired orthopedic surgeon and beloved member of the ERT board of directors.
Over time things have grown and changed at the ERT. We currently have 79 ERT members all over the United States, Canada, France, and other countries. We have established a mentorship program to help new ERT recruits navigate the complex world of ET contact. These mentors shadow new recruits, answering questions, giving advice, sharing wisdom and offering guidance new recruits on how they can best help each individual.
We are enthusiastic bunch of folks who are passionate about what we do. We have lively monthly zoom meetings with speakers like Daryl Sims, Preston Dennett, Barbara Lamb, Barry Downing and many more
We are always on the lookout for new ERT members. If being on the MUFON Experiencer Resource Team sounds like something you’d be interested in doing simply Join MUFON, find your chapter and reach out to your local State Director and tell them you want to join the ERT team. We are actively looking to train new ERT members in the following states: New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Ohio, South Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Arkansas and Hawaii.
