Updates From The New Paradigm Institute - Growing Momentum: Key Leaders in Washington Signal Serious Interest in UFOs/UAP Disclosure
Washington, D.C., August 2025 -- A cultural shift is underway in Washington, as more elected officials step forward to engage publicly on the UFO/UAP issue, and some are going further than ever before.

Representative Eric Burlison (R-MO) has emerged as one of the most vocal advocates in Congress on disclosure. From his participation in the Buga Sphere Press Conference in Mexico City, to his leading the effort to reintroduce the UAP Disclosure Act in the House, Burlison has proven a serious player in the movement for transparency. He has made notable public claims, including on two different podcasts, that the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) confirmed to him that classified UFO programs have unlawfully withheld information from Congress.
In a particularly bold moment, Burlison referenced five species of alleged Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) beings: The Reptilians, the Nordics, the Grays (both tall and short), and the Mantis (insectoid). These claims, while extraordinary, reflect a shifting “window of discourse” — ideas once relegated to the fringe are now entering the halls of power. While I have also talked publicly about the five alien species, Burlison reportedly received this information from Dr. Eric Davis, Ph.D., during the recent Understanding UAP: Science, National Security & Innovation roundtable presentation held this past May.

Meanwhile, we’re seeing unprecedented mainstream media engagement as well. In a noteworthy interview with an ABC News local affiliate, Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD) discussed the UAP Disclosure Act, marking the first time a sitting member of Congress has appeared on a major network to speak directly about this legislation. That alone is a sign of meaningful progress since the Act was first introduced in 2023.
And in a lighter but telling moment, Vice President JD Vance made headlines during a recent appearance on The Daily Beast, saying:
“I’m obsessed with the whole UFO thing… What’s actually going on, what were those videos all about? I haven’t got to the bottom of it yet, but we’re only six months in. The August recess is, in part, me trying to dive into the bottom of the whole UFO thing from last year. If there’s anything there, I’ll make sure you’re the first to know.”
While Vance’s tone leaned casual, his interest appears genuine, representing yet another signal that the UFO/UAP topic has entered the national conversation at the highest levels of government.

AARO Director Jon Kosloski Publicly Acknowledges Triangle Craft and Glowing Orbs
In another notable development, recently appointed AARO Director Dr. Jon Kosloski appeared on the StarTalk podcast with Neil deGrasse Tyson, offering his most extensive public comments to date on the UFO/UAP issue.
The conversation covered various topics, including the government's shift from the term "UFO" to "UAP," the mechanisms behind AARO’s data collection pipeline, and the growing challenge of AI-generated fakes. Kosloski addressed how AARO sifts through reports — separating genuine anomalies from false positives like misidentified celestial objects.
But the most eye-opening moment came when Kosloski confirmed that witness reports of glowing orbs and triangle-shaped craft are actively being tracked by AARO. In his own words:
"There are triangles hovering about the size of a Prius… and glowing orbs."
These statements align with recent remarks made by former AARO Deputy Director Timothy Phillips, who reaffirmed in June 2025 that these specific orbs and black triangles are among the most consistently reported UAP across military and civilian encounters.
While Kosloski acknowledged that such phenomena are real and persistent, AARO continues to maintain that it has not yet identified any foreign adversary involvement and has not uncovered conclusive evidence of extraterrestrial life, technology, or intelligence.
