Special Announcement: Registration Now Open for The Sol Foundation’s 2025 Annual Symposium, October 24 – 27 in Italy

Palo Alto, CA, October 2025 – The following Special Announcement comes to The WOW! Signal from Professor Garry Nolan, PhD. Professor Nolan is Executive Director of the Board and Co-Founder of The Sol Foundation. Professor Nolan is writing to inform interested parties that registration is now open for The Sol Foundation’s unprecedented Annual Symposium, which will take place on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Italy, October 24 - 27.

To register and for additional information about the Symposium, please see:

After two successful and path-breaking events in the San Francisco area, The Sol Foundation has decided to contribute more directly to the UAP conversation outside of the United States by bringing the event it has become known for to a new location. Europe has been a focus of The Sol Foundation’s work from its start, and Sol executives are excited to have the opportunity to participate in the continent’s UAP conversation, as well as to engage more directly with its European colleagues.

As with The Sol Foundation’s previous symposia, a roster of leading thinkers on UAP from academia, government, civil society, and the private sector will deliver groundbreaking talks that set the direction for the upcoming year’s UAP conversation. Topics will range from physics, astrobiology, astronomy, anthropology, philosophy, and theology. In addition, other topics to be addressed will range from various aspects of the new science of UAP, international governance and law, to cosmology, consciousness, and non-human agency and intelligence.

PROFESSOR NOLAN’S OPEN INVITATION TO POTENTIAL ATTENDEES:

Dear Colleagues,

I write to you as a research scientist who believes deeply in the integrity of open inquiry and the pursuit of knowledge, wherever it may lead us.

As you know, topics surrounding so-called non-human intelligence (NHI) or unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) have long been burdened with stigma. Many of us have encountered situations in which the mere mention of these subjects provokes discomfort or even outright dismissal. I was recently invited to talk on the Joe Rogan Podcast, where I have argued that not challenging such stigma does not serve the values of science.

The Sol Foundation, which I co-founded, exists to create an environment where questions, data, and evidence can be explored in a scientifically responsible, rigorous manner, and without fear of professional reproach. Our mission is to provide a scholarly platform where empirical evidence and critical thought can meet, unencumbered by cultural taboos.

From October 24 - 27, we will be convening our Annual Symposium, which will bring together academic researchers, parliamentarians and other government officials, along with voices from civil society. The gathering will take place in Baveno, Italy, at the Grand Hotel Dino. A historic moment, this year’s Symposium will mark the first time that such a serious and rigorous event on this scale will be held in Europe.

For only by treating the UAP subject with seriousness can we hope to determine whether it has trivial explanation or yields transformative insight. Collectively, we have a responsibility not to look away from the unknown, but to examine it with rigor, humility, and courage.

I invite all of you with a keen interest in this phenomenon to join us at this truly unique event.

With regards,

Garry P. Nolan, Ph.D.
