Translucent, Oval, Metal Cloud

Our Shifting Reality By CJ Arabia

March 2025

I was about 6 or 7 years old when I saw a UFO in San Diego in the 1970s. I did not know what a UFO was. We were living on my grandparents' ranch in east county San Diego at the time and I was walking home from the school bus stop along Olde Hwy 80.

I was walking with a boy who lived in a house near our ranch when he suddenly pushed me under a nearby oak tree. I had no idea what was going on and started to ask but he shushed me with his finger to his lips and then pointed up with the same finger… “They’re watching us,” he whispered.

My gaze followed his finger up to see an object directly above us. It was a large, translucent, oval, metal cloud about 20 feet across, hovering just above trees and it was dead silent.

And there were colors… the kind you see when it rains and the oils in the road float on the water’s surface - there was an iridescent rainbow sheen around the disc or in the cloud, I don’t know which, but it was absolutely beautiful.

At the time I didn’t know what it was, but now I know it was a silver disc shaped UFO floating silently inside of a cloud or mist. As I stared at it transfixed, I remember thinking, “It’s them!” And I remember feeling a familiarity… as if I knew them, but I had no idea who they were.

The disc was a solid metal, but as I stared at it, it began to fade before my eyes. I could see through it and then it disappeared. Then it was suddenly there again. It started fading a second time, becoming translucent and disappearing. Then it reappeared once more. This happened several times before it just vanished and was gone.

And that’s all I remember from that day. I don’t remember talking about it with the boy, or walking home. And I never told anyone about what I saw that day. Not until many years later…

In 2023, I became a MUFON Field Investigator and a member of MUFON’s Experiencer Resource Team because I wanted to help other people like myself. I know what it's like to have the people you love most look at you like you're crazy when you tell them what you saw.

People talk a lot about disclosure these days, but for many of us disclosure has already happened. For me, disclosure happened on a dusty old Highway in San Diego in the mid-1970s.

As far as Disclosure with a capital "D" goes, I know many of my colleagues anxiously await that day, but for those of us who have had remarkable experiences, we already know beyond a doubt that their presence here on Earth is very, very real.
