UAP Disclosure Act Faces New Hurdles: Updates From The New Paradigm Institute
By Danny Sheehan
Washington, D.C., October 2025 -- Things are not looking good in Congress for the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act (UAPDA). Working with allies such as yourself, and through our volunteer network, the New Paradigm Institute has had 153 face-to-face engagements with congressional offices in the run up to Congress’ re-convening in September. But while the fight over the UAPDA is not totally over, things do not appear hopeful. Here’s what our policy liaison, Kevin Wright, has to report on where things stand:
"The Senate is currently debating its version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which unfortunately does not include the full UAPDA. Senate Arms Services Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS) filed a substitute amendment replacing the NDAA’s original text, allowing only limited UAP-related provisions on reporting, intercepts, and classification. As it stands, the UAPDA’s inclusion in the final NDAA remains uncertain and appears unlikely, though the outcome won’t be settled until final Senate votes are cast in the coming days."
The struggle to achieve disclosure continues, and we will be developing new strategies to account for the possibility that the UAPDA doesn’t end up being law this year. These strategies will be focused on mobilization of grassroots pressure and ramped-up public education. Stay tuned and stay with us. This fight is still just beginning….
House Oversight Committee Expands UAP Investigation with New Interrogatories
In other news, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO), a member of the House Oversight Committee, recently revealed that his committee has sent interrogatory letters to two federal agencies and two private companies as part of its ongoing investigation into UFOs/UAP.
These letters are part of the committee's efforts to gather more information regarding UAP, their potential national security implications, and the involvement of private sector entities in the research or development of UFO/UAP-related technology.
I’ve spent quite a bit of time meeting with Burlison in recent weeks, and I believe he is a sincere champion of UFO/UAP transparency. Let’s see where his efforts lead…
Together, we create the future.
